NEW in DD Version 7.3

($$$ Indicates a Chargeable Module)

Client/Server Database Architecture

  • Digital Dining’s architecture has changed from a desktop database architecture to client/server. This reduces network congestion and facilitates extremely efficient communication and speed especially on large networks.

$$$ Table Management Module

  • Turn tables faster and manage customer service at a glance with Digital Dining’s Table Management module! A graphical table display with drop and drag features allow the user to quickly move and combine tables. Providing time critical information on table status, when an action has not occurred within the specified time an alarm is sent that causes the table icon to flash at the POS. With 5 pre-defined timers, additional user-definable timers can be established. For example, if a check is open and no beverages are added to the check within 5 minutes an alarm can be sent. If there is still no beverage after 8 minutes a second alarm will be sent. Other examples include no appetizers ordered, entrees ordered, desserts ordered, etc. Also an alarm can be sent indicating the need for a table to be bussed. Extensive reporting in the module allows you to evaluate server performance, average table turn times and much more.

Graphical Split Check

  • Splitting a check just got graphical with Digital Dining’s new drag and drop alternate method for check splitting. Simply highlight the menu items you want to move by touching them and then touch the check you want the items to be moved to and they will appear on the new check. Flexibility is the cornerstone in Digital Dining and now you have a choice, our original method or the graphical approach used in some of the other POS systems. You can also “slice and dice” the check evenly among the guests paying the check if you like.

Upsize/Downsize

  • This feature can be used to increase or decrease the size and price of a menu item that has been ordered by simply selecting the upsize or downsize Check Option at the POS and applying it to the menu item. This adds flexibility to the Digital Dining’s Combo Meal functionality. For example a combo meal could be “super-sized” very easily using this feature. It also works very well for Doubles in the bar.

Pick and Choose Modifiers

  • This is an optional modification method in Digital Dining to streamline modifying menu items. When using this method, select a menu item and the pick and choose modifier window for that menu item will automatically appear. The standard modifiers for the menu item will be highlighted and can be toggled on or off. Other possible modifiers will appear without highlighting. When the correct modifiers are highlighted modification is complete. One of the many great uses for this feature is a combo pizza with several toppings, for example, a Mexican Pizza. All standard toppings are highlighted so the user toggles the onion “off” to indicate no onion and now the order is ready to send.

Conditional Printing

  • This is one of the last great features in Dos to be developed for Windows. Prep printer routing can now be modified and each printer can print a prep ticket that includes the entire order rather than only the items prepared at the individual prep location. For example a restaurant has both sandwiches and pizza and they are prepared at different areas of the kitchen.  Normally the pizza items only print at the pizza station and the sandwich items only print at the sandwich station.  However, an order containing both sandwich and pizza can print at both stations so the person preparing the sandwich knows to wait 10 minutes because the prep time is 10 minutes longer.

No Beverage Security

  • The No Beverage Security feature is even better than before!  Now you can set Digital Dining to require a beverage be ordered at the POS for each person at the table before the server can tender the check. If there are less beverages on the check Digital Dining will not allow the server to tender the check without a manager. Think of all those coffees and sodas that might have been "forgotten" otherwise.

Item Out Alternate Suggestion

  • Now when a "sold out" menu item is selected at the POS, Digital Dining can make an alternate menu suggestion and provide a prompt with a Yes or No message box. When Yes is selected the alternate menu item will be ordered. This feature aids the server in making an appropriate alternate suggestion and encourages quality customer service.

Accounts Receivable Payments at the POS

  • With this new feature A/R account balances can be paid at the POS. This "Paid In" Register Option allows you to select the A/R account, check the current balance and post the payment .

NT Scheduler for Auto Reports and Utilities

  • Utilizing NT Scheduler and the power of Digital Dining, you can now schedule activities such as, running reports, posting credit card batches and processing registers to automatically run at a user defined time of day, or run multiple tasks and reports from a desktop icon.

Check Total Message Box

  • This is a great new security feature in Digital Dining and especially useful in a busy bar environment. When using this feature in the Quick Service register a large box displaying the check total will appear on the screen when a check has been tendered and can be easily seen from a distance. This allows a manager or spotters to easily monitor drinks served vs. amount charged.

Reduced Keystrokes for Check Payment

  • Just 2 keystrokes to close an open tab! On Quick Service registers the Cash key has added functionality eliminating keystrokes and allowing open tabs to be paid in record time.

Multiple POS Windows Per Menu Item

  • Building your menu couldn't be easier and faster with this added functionality in Digital Dining. Once you've created a menu item you can now put it in as many POS Windows as you wish.

$$$ Gift Certificate Module

  • Digital Dining’s new Gift Certificate module enables you to create a gift certificate at the POS as a “gift card” or a printed receipt. Expiration options include a specified date, a set passage of time or no expiration. The module provides full tracking capabilities and comprehensive reporting
